Silvia’s love for cinema first revealed itself while she was working in a video rental shop in her home town in Italy. Her experience in our Film & Screen Production Diploma was one of finding her voice by being exposed to a broad range of styles, opinions, methods and interests.
Michael arrived to dBs Berlin with a background in electronic music. But his experience in our Music Production and Sound Engineering Degree has pushed him to explore new terrain. Inspired by the potential to collaborate, he came up with the idea to record in a church from the 12th century.
From California to Berlin, Hanna’s interest in collaboration through music has pushed her across boundaries in more than one sense. Hip-hop is notoriously political in its ability to give a voice to the voiceless and be a source of resistance. During her time here at dBs Music Berlin, Hanna has also taken up a similar influence, being a part of the first panel for our dBs Dialogues series.
On any given night in Berlin, there will be a myriad of gigs where you can see a limitless variety of music. The city’s reputation of being interested in solely DJ techno or electronic doesn’t do justice to the profoundly diverse collection it actually hosts. With this in mind, we here at dBs Music Berlin began a new concert series where we will showcase the students who want to preform their music live on stage.
